Reading and Writing

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  That's really all I need to know.  Really it's all that anybody needs to know.  But even on that one simple sentence you have division in the world.    Yes we need to teach the children to read and write.  Yes adults have the ability to turn children into just about anything they want to.  Satan has placed adults in this world who might turn the children into something that they would rather not be such as a low wage slave buried in debt and consumed by taxes.  It is hard for anybody to break free of financial slavery and my hat is off to all who have overcome.

I am different than my brothers.  My brothers are different than me.  My brothers are different from each other.  We are all different.  All one has to do is to take a DNA sample and you will clearly see that no one is the same.  God made each of us because he wanted someone just like you.  Why?  Because he loves you.  And when it comes to reading and writing the only book that is worthy of reading and writing about is the bible.  So why wouldn't one spend every waking minute of his life reading and writing and dreaming about the wonderful stories of the bible?  Well, some do.  They call them priests, and pastors, and preachers.  And even amongst all of the priests, and pastors, and preachers in this world there is great division.  So we all have to pursue our own life, liberty, and happiness.

If you have been blessed with money in your life and the ability to make money that is truly about the only blessing that anybody and everybody no matter what religion or political persuasion would be happy to have.  Even a pastor must keep the books of the church.  He must know the balance sheet, the cash flow statement, and the net worth statement.  He cannot drive the church into bankruptcy and allow the building to be foreclosed and be evicted by non-believing business men who are shrewd and do all of those things very well every day.

Rodney Howard-Browne has got to be one of the shrewdest businessmen and best preachers I have ever seen in my life.  John MacArthur would probably call him a heretic and say that he is on his way to the lake of fire.  Tony Spell is a great man.  The first photo I ever saw of him he was wearing a t-shirt that said "Lead, Follow, or Get Out of the Way".   The governor of the state had him arrested.  This is the world that our generation has come to.  On the one hand it's absolutely pathetic, and on the other hand it is all written and is only God's plan playing out in front of our eyes.  I can only hope that he let's me in when the time comes.

So what does it all mean to me, Al Franken?  I will continue what I have been trying to do ever since I realized I was free to do whatever I wanted to do.  And that is to make money.  To make so much money I can't count it all.  In the beginning it was the call of rhinestone suits and new shiny cars.  Wine, women, and song.  Drugs, sex, and rock and roll.  Swimming pools and movie stars.  Now at 59 years of age it's beans and rice and reading and writing.  Saving and investing.  Being debt free.  Having a good job with a good paycheck.  And if I ever were to find that I had more money than I could count, then I would start a school of opportunity for underprivileged kids.

But at this point in time I find myself asking will I outlive my money.  Will the pile of money that I have be enough to take me to my last breath.  It is the same question that everybody who is looking at retirement has.  The fear of running out of money before you die is in the minds of a great many people in this world.  And there are many who have no money at all and are quite sure that they will die without a penny to their name.  Johnny Paycheck saw a lot of good folks die who had a lot of bills to pay.

Tom T. Hall says I'm a coal minin' man, three miles under ground.  I work where the wind don't blow.  Ricky Skaggs says daylight or dark, rain or shine.  It don't much matter down in the mine.  Where the tunnel's deep, Lord, the air gets thin. That's the way of life for the minin' man.

Yesterday I started and finished the book "Simple Wealth, Inevitable Wealth" by Nick Murray.  Today I will do the same with "Heads I Win Tails You Lose" by Patrick K. Donohoe.  On Tuesday I have my second Zoom call with John Stewart at Paradigm Life, and sometime this week I expect to be meeting with Andy at Raymond James.  Nick Murray says to get a financial advisor.  He says if you don't have a good financial advisor you are a fool.  Now the question becomes who will I choose as my financial advisor.  How many financial advisors should I have?  I will be reading and searching for an answer to these questions and more as the days go by.  I may have ten years, I may get hit by a train tomorrow.  Mother is gone.  A new chapter begins.
